Blog Introduction

Florence, Italy- or Firenze, Italia- is a world-famous city known for its art and architecture.  It is also where I have been living for the past week.  During that time, I have navigated a city that stands tall and proud, raising its ancient towers above its cobble streets.  It has existed for many centuries and will no doubt last for many more.  How this city got its fame, and how it became a major chapter in art and architecture, has everything to do with the Italian Renaissance.  The artists it produced and the culture it inspired shaped Florence then and influences it now.  The artworks and procedures its minds conjured completely redeveloped the traditional art of the past, and advanced the art of the future.  During this blog, I will record my experiences in Italy, and critically analyze them to better understand the Italian culture

(Note, this post, and many that follow, will be published a few days after they were written due to unreliable internet connections.  This post was written 24-05-2015)
